The Keystone Center

The Keystone CenterKeystone StreamDow is a sponsor of The Keystone Center’s Key Issues: Bringing Environmental Issues to the Classroom program, which supports middle school teachers in professional development. Key Issues provides teachers from across the world with a balanced, non-biased, comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to investigate environmental issues within the context of scientific investigation. On average, Dow sponsors between 10-15 teachers each summer for the Key Issues workshops. We send educators from Dow manufacturing locations and the teachers in turn implement the inquiry-based hands-on science program with their students.

The Keystone Center is a non-profit public policy and educational organization founded in 1975 that is headquartered in Keystone, Colorado with an office in Washington, D.C. The Keystone Center strives to equip citizens with deliberative frameworks, democratic processes, analytical information, and critical-thinking skills to navigate tough problems and develop solutions. The organization positions itself to improve decisions about long-term issues by helping students learn, teachers teach and thought-leaders and decision-makers effectively address technically complex, politically uncertain situations. They offer learning opportunities for middle level educators nationally and internationally.
