Laboratory Safety Institute

Dow is a sponsor of the Laboratory Safety Institute (LSI). Schools located near Dow’s manufacturing site locations are participating in Laboratory Safety Training and other lab safety program development activities provided by the Laboratory Safety Institute. It is our goal that each Dow community school district participates in this training.

The Laboratory Safety Institute was founded in 1978 by Dr. James A. Kaufman and is located in Natick, Massachusetts. The Laboratory Safety Institute offers a variety of programs and services to assist academia at all education levels. LSI provides short courses on lab safety fundamentals. They will assist school districts on how to develop a safety program and conduct audits and inspections to insure regulatory compliance.
