Presidential Classroom

Presidential Classroom Dow has been a corporate sponsor of Presidential Classroom for six years. Our participation has included students and volunteer teachers chosen from communities near Dow manufacturing site locations throughout the United States. Students and teachers have participated in the Science and Technology in Public Policy workshop. This opportunity is offered to different locations each year.

Founded in 1968, Presidential Classroom is a non-profit, nonpartisan civic education organization, and is located in Alexandria, VA. Presidential Classroom utilizes Washington, D.C. as a learning laboratory and invites young leaders to participate in a program which builds community responsibility. Their goal is to identify and prepare outstanding high school juniors and seniors for future roles as civic leaders. This is an academically focused program providing students with first-hand exposure to government in action and an understanding of citizens’ involvement in the public policy process. Most importantly, Presidential Classroom challenges young people to lifelong commitments to responsible citizenship.
