Dow Unveils Pre-College Education Web Site

Midland, MI - April 14, 2005

Dow has unveiled a Pre-College Education web site www.doweducation.com. This site will help communicate Dow's support of educational initiatives around the world.

"As a parent of three children, I'm proud of Dow's long-standing commitment to education," said Andrew Liveris, president and CEO for Dow. "Our involvement goes beyond partnerships and affiliations. Dow employees are active volunteers in their community schools, and Dow scientists have shared their expertise to develop lesson plans and teaching materials. In a truly global economy, the internet is the most effective way to share these materials and communicate our support."

In the Students' section by age, you will find "Dow in Your Home." Flash technology is used to showcase Dow products found in things we use everyday.

Under the Teachers' section there are environmental and chemistry lesson plans developed with Dow scientists and education partners; also listed, is information on implementing hands-on science, professional development suggestions, and science resources for the classroom.

This site provides articles and videos on the latest education news from Dow. It also provides a link to Dow manufacturing sites with education materials on their web sites.
